Nautilus Tavern Open Mic

So in a landscape of closed comedy clubs ands outdoor substitutes, along came Nautilus Tavern.

Nautilus is a small bar down the street from the Comedy Store in La Jolla that somehow got around regulations and was able to have comics stand on a small corner stage inside their bar.

Even though it was a limited run, the nights were both eventful and not. It felt like a pre-covid bar mic that made you fight for attention over sports games and try punch after punch to keep the limited attention before it snaps away to something less interesting than a desperate comic.

Man, do I miss comedy.
